The Radio Warrington Team

Graham Lovett
After too many years in the newspaper business I managed to sleep my way to the bottom before debunking to, what was then, local radio.
I was then paid very badly and infrequently (bosses at Radio Warrington please take note!) for doing something I enjoyed. The gig involved covering Premiership Football, Super League and cricket for several stations for around 10 years before being rumbled.
At just about the same time I found out about broccoli, (mmm!) and have been on the slippery slope every since – hence my lobbing up at Radio Warrington.

I was born in Widnes, way back in 1971 and having never played the game of Rugby League to a particularly high standard apart from school teams and the odd local side, I opted to talk and write about it instead.
My love of radio started many years ago, back in 1986 when a friend of mine started a 'Pirate' radio station in Widnes, called 'WFM' (Widnes FM) and from those early experiences on that highly illegal broadcasting organisation, I was hooked.
Not too long after that, I became a mobile DJ who took his gear on the road for a living, playing at a whole host of venues across the North West, before I moved into permanent Nightclub work in 1988, where I stayed until 1997.
Meanwhile, back in 1994 I joined Warrington Hospital Radio (Radio General), and learned my trade further and I was fortunate enough to start on professional radio back in 2002 working for Wire FM (Warrington, Widnes & Runcorn) and also Wish FM (Wigan & St. Helens).
Nowadays of course, you can hear me on Radio Warrington, co-commentating with my 'on screen' Wife, Graham Lovett, on Warrington Wolves games.

I was born in Warrington in 1979 and have lived here most my life. I soon became very interested in music and so I became a DJ at a very young age and began looking for work. I was soon snapped up and started working in a number of bars in Warrington and Liverpool.
After a few years of gigging every hour I could I started work for Radio City in Liverpool. I was playing in various bars and clubs for them and was also involved with their Road Shows all around the City. I became hooked on radio and got the opportunity to help out on the Saturday morning show 6-10 and this normally meant going straight there after working all night in a bar or club. I soon became the sidekick on the show for about a year until it was time for me to get a REAL job and I moved on and became an engineer.
I am also a huge Warrington Wolves fan and have always tried to get to as many games as I can. I was delighted to be asked to get involved with the sports team at Radio Warrington and you can hear me co-commentating on Warrington Wolves home games.
